Day 141 - Devvo!

Forgot to blog didn't i. So this is a major short one and I'll do the results tomorrow for the beard test.

Went to see Devvo tonight with a friend from college and it was awesome. Here's a little picture

Day 140 - Too much food | Day 60 - Beard test

Wow. I think last night we made the nicest thing I've ever made, every little taste was perfect. Don't think I could eat it again any time soon though, tomorrow I'll post all the photos, I did them in different stages. But here is the final photo.

The final photo. I'll have this one and my first photo, and the mid photo to compare. Again, not expecting much difference.

Day 138 - The official start of another assignment | Day 58 - Beard test

It's another Friday, which should mean I should be basking in the knowledge that my weekend starts very soon. But I decided yesterday that I wanted to make a decent start on my next assignment which is now in for this time next month, which also means I want to try and get some done this weekend as well, just so I have made a big dent in the 6,000 words they want. I say 6,000 words, the maximum is 6,000 and the minimum is 3,000. But I don't want to flake out as soon as I get to 3,000, I want to get a decent mark on this assignment so I can get a good overall grade for the year, as this in worth the most. Along with my final meeting where my boss gives me a grade of my performance in my industry. I am not too worried about that really, but I have a little feeling she will not be the most generous person with the grading. I won't go into all that again after yesterdays little rant.

We're planning the "Pizza Cake" tonight and hopefully going shopping before tomorrow so we can have everything ready. We can cook this badass pizza in the afternoon and then slip into a food coma for the rest of the weekend and not have to leave the house. Sounds like a perfect way to get us back into the student mind frames we once had for July. All we keep talking about when we all get in how crazy next year is going to be, and the three of us living together are the most easily influenced people in the world, so we'll be out most nights I'd imagine. Already planned what we want to do on freshers, because the last two years we have been pretty calm when it comes to freshers we thought we'd go crazy and try and do a pre-freshers weekend and then do every night of freshers, it'll be tough and probably make sure seriously ill but its final year and we want to go out with a bang, if you like haha.

Last night we thought we'd give an album a listen on Spotify instead of sticking a vinyl on. We went for Arthur Brown - The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, and just like the title says, it is one hell of a crazy trip. With spoken word sections and mental keyboard solos you can tell a lot of LSD was being taken when he wrote that. It wasn't an album that sticks out in my mind, but I'm really happy I gave it a listen, it just added fuel to the fire that is my love for the 60s. It really was a crazy time back then, with all the drugs and good music going about. To be honest it has only been this year that I found my love for the 60s, but boy am I glad I found it, cannot stop listen to The Doors now.

I think it's time to official start my weekend and eat an insane amount of food and try and get a little bit more work done.

________________________________________________________________________________

The "beard test" ends on Sunday, but the plan is to have a normal Sunday and post a picture then we'll pull up the first picture, the day 15 (45) picture of the pill test and then the Sunday picture to see if anything has changed. Going to put it out there and say already that the pills didn't have much effect, but we'll see on Monday.

Day 137 - Busy. Panic. Busy. | Day 57 - Beard test

I thought it was going to be another normal day in the office. It was all morning, I sat her typing away and thinking about when it's about to turn to 12 o clock so I don't feel bad about eating something haha. So it gets to the afternoon and I check my old university email account and see an email from my tutor, in which he is reminding us about the deadline that has been moved from the end of the course to the end of April. Which is just one month away. So now I have to try and sort out an entire evaluation report about my time working here in just over a month. 6,000 words. On a placement that I haven't even finished yet. I think it's mainly to do with the fact that I started my placement a little late than most people, most people start in Summer but I started in September. Which in a way is good because then I can work right up until I start my final year later this year and not be poor throughout Summer. But I think it might be more to do with the Placement Unit here being the most unorganised people in the history of human beings being able to organise. Plus on top of that my personal tutor is extremely old fashioned when it comes to marking work and personal meetings. He is a big fan of paper graphs and telling me I might be stressing because some line on a chart says so, but chances are I'm just a little fed of being treated like a child. But hey ho, I'll crack on with this assignment and then see what he has to say. No doubt he'll pull out his little graphs and tell me all sorts of "important" information I need to know about finishing off my placement year.

No idea where that came from haha. As I'm sure you're aware I am a big fan of Shay Carl and his vlogs. I started watching back in my college days and was surprised to find out he was still going strong after stopping watching for a while. He hit 5 years of daily vlogs last month and is now selling his production company he started up a few years back to none other than Disney! Pretty big news for a guy that started out vlogging his family in Idaho. But he said something on his latest vlog which really got me thinking. Shay selling his company is going to change his family life forever, but he then went on to say that it will probably change his entire family tree which is a very deep thought, and very true. But it's not just money that can change a family tree, just the little things in life can really have a huge impact on later life. I really made me appreciate the little things, little moments you might have during the day which could change everything in the long run. One different move during my day could change my childrens childrens lifes massively in many many years to come. Reminds me of the film Cloud Atlas, great film about how a little thing in time could change something in the future all together. If you've not seen it and a got some time to spare to properly watch a film then go watch it. It also has a fantastic soundtrack.

For the first time today I think I did non-stop work, which is different for me. I usually do an hour blast of work and then give myself 5 minutes, but what with all this work I've been having to work non-stop, which is great really. It is want I wanted from this placement all along. I almost forgot to blog again, was just getting my coat on when I remembered that I'd forgot. Even though last night I set up all my posts for the next 10 days.

Playing on making some Epic Meal Time style food this weekend. We're getting 2 pizzas and just covering it in cheese and cooking it and we're just going to eat it like a cake and destroy it. Tempted to even tweet it to Harley to see what he thinks. But no doubt he'll be making something 10 times the size of that and then laugh at my tiny little beard haha.

I think I'll call that a day. I'll brave the train stations of the UK and meet some of the rudest people in the world. A man actually pushed me out of the way to get on a train last night, how nice of him.

Getting close to the finish. Still no beard in sight.

Wednesday 26 March 2014

Day 139 - Pizza day | Day 59 - Beard test

Today is the day! It's pizza day! We went to Iceland late last night and picked everything up in advance just like we planned. But last minute we decided to stuff some extra toppings inside the pizza cake. Got some BBQ chicken strips, so now it's going to have the added height haha. I'll post a picture in tomorrow blogs!

So the plan is, make nachoes, put the pizza cake in the oven to pre-cook, war nachoes whilst it cooks and then slam on loads of cheese and garlic sauce for the final few minutes so it melts nicely. Then begins the food coma. So if I've not blogged tomorrow I'm still in a coma haha. Going to go for a run in five so I don't feel total crap when I eat all this food haha.

It's a purely chill night tonight, no going out, no drinking. I want to try and get in bed early as well because last weekend I messed up my sleeping pattern and was knackered for work the entire week, wouldn't want to repeat that again.

______________________________________________

Tomorrow will be he final photo. Can't believe it's been 60 days already.
Took this in the sun like a fool so of course it looks even more poor than normal

Day 136 - Look! I didn't forgot. | Day 56 - Beard test

Here I am, blogging before I leave work like I should have been doing for the past 2 days haha. I have a pretty good excuse for not doing it at work though, it has been a crazy few days what with this new project and getting settled with it. The ball is officially rolling though now and we should have some logos and a society set up very soon. Still can't decide if I want to join it or not myself, what with setting it up and coming up with the ideas I feel like I should do, but then if I get involved with every project I get given I'll have so much more work to do. So I'll just see how these next few weeks plan out. It is really nice having some of my own responsibilities again rather than just being given little tasks now and then. I still get the odd phone call asking for advice but I can deal with that along side this work I have now.

Totally forgot that I was going to see Devvo next week. A friend of mine popped up on Facebook and mentioned that he'd seen something about Devvo doing a comedy set in Leeds. We went to college together and use to spend hours on end watching Devvo videos that we use to watch back in High School, so it should be a good laugh next week getting to actually see him. Still makes me laugh that so many people think he isn't a character and there is this actual chav roaming the streets of Doncaster selling bus tickets, well...maybe there are a few haha.

I think I've finally started to get use to getting up early on a morning. I always find myself wide awake before my alarm goes off on a morning, and I've actually been managing to get up before I have to leave without any rush or worrying of missing my train. Only taken me 6 months haha. Even on weekends or if I've had a really bad nights sleep I get up early, but I'm sure once I'm in the final year of being a student again I'll be back to sleeping in to some ridiculously time. Putting the money down for our house for next year tonight, got me excited about all the things I've missed about Huddersfield.
Firstly, my all time favorite bar, the bar where my band started out, the bar that has many a drunken story. Parish. I have a feeling we'll be spending an uncalled for amount of time in Parish next year. Of course just up the road from Parish is Camel, even though it is a bit of a dive at times, and most of the time the music is terrible, we have had some laughs in there in the past. But that doesn't count Fridays. Friday night is Bedlam, which has incredible music and some of the nicest people go on that night. That is one of the only nights I really enjoy going to Camel, and you don't even have to be stupidly drunk to enjoy it. Me and Jonny went one night and must have spent less than a tenner with no pre-drinks and had probably one of the best nights we've ever had, purely because of the great music and people. In between them two beautiful places is a little place called Burger Time. It only open a few months before we left Huddersfield but we went/ordered from there at least one a week or something stupid like that haha. I'm sure the first day we move into our new house we'll visit all three of them places haha, and then the next day, and the next, and the probably the next and if I'm truly honest many, many, many more days after that.
Leeds has been a lot of fun, and I don't regret moving there for a year, it is really nice to have a change and have something different on a night out, but it will be really nice not having to get up really early to get to work and not having to get two trains to get there. I'll be able to walk to and from work which will be great in the last few months of my placement year. Yup, bring on July so I can get back to Huddersfield (never thought I'd say that).

_______________________________________________________________________________

Hmm, I think the pills have worked a little. Been trying to stop myself from comparing the first photo I took to this one, but I think I'll wait it out until the final day, which is very close. (This Sunday, I think).

Day 135 - I forgot again! | Day 55 - Beard test

Yup, forgot to blog at work again, god damn it. Everything was going so we this morning I knew something was going to go wrong haha.

Actually managed to get up nice and early before my train for once, maybe I'm getting use to these mornings after all. I had some food before I left which is very rare but had to have a black tea because I forgot to buy milk yesterday like the toolbox I am. Work also seemed to go nicely as well with a steady flow of work, but then I remembered on the train that I forgot that one part of the day, sitting down and blogging. I'll actually do a beard test today because it has been a while.

Got the email from Gladtonbury this morning telling me to pay the rest of the ticket money off next week which makes me excited and crap at the same time. Not a fan of paying all that money at once but it has to be done so I can actually go haha. Also to make it so much better The Black Keys have been confirmed which is great news, they're a band I've been wanting to see for a long time now and I'll finally get to see them this Summer.

_________________________________________________________

Nothing new here. But I guess all these vitamins are still good for me in the long run. I'll have to see if anything changes when I've stopped taking them. Maybe all my hair will fall out haha.

Monday 24 March 2014

Day 134 - Monday Morning Moaning

It's been a real busy day at work so I didn't get chance to blog and totally forgot once I was home so it's a very quick one again. The beard test will have to carry on tomorrow, too dark for a photo now, and I really don't fancy getting out of bed to turn the light on haha.

Yeah an actual really busy day at work, since I got given this project to do, which is great news. Hopefully these final few months will fly by which would be very nice.

Putting the money down for the house on Wednesday hopefully nobody has got in before us. We should be alright I'd imagine most people are put off by the price and think it's way to expensive but us experienced students know that it's a steal haha.

Sunday 23 March 2014

Day 133 - Great weekend

It's was a horrible journey back but I made it back to Leeds in the end. Trains cancelled left, right and center, god damn  signal problems. I thought at first I'd have to get an hour long bus back but eventually a train turned up and got me into Leeds early meaning I didn't have to wait an hour for anothe train back to Burley. I thought everything was going to well, I thought the train night breakdown or something but it didn't haha.

Been a great weekend seeing the family and having some good laughs. We put Kindergarten Cop on last night for some random reason haha.

No beard test tonight, it's Sunday. Leave me alone haha

Saturday 22 March 2014

Day 132 - Sisters birthday | Day 52 - beard test

Well I'd like to tell you that I've had a nice relaxing Saturday at home, I wish I could tell you that. I got woke up at 7 by my little cousin, then I had to go to a garden center after some fine ass breakfast, but still...a garden center. I can't deal with those places at all. Then we had to go to Asda which is the second worst place in the world. But still had some great family time this weekend, got Kindergarten Cop on now whilst everyone falls asleep. Best Arnie film! Haha.

Home time tomorrow, my mums already packed me up loads of food for me to take back like she always does haha. Including tea bags, but not just any tea bags, Yorkshire Tea bags! Happy days.

As you can see the beard pills are a complete success. Not only did they help me grow a beard but they always changed my facial features. Bacon.

Day 131 - Gettin' down on Friday | Day 51 - Beard test

Forgot to blog at work, was planning on making a lengthy one before the weekend but it's too late for that!

I managed to get out of work a little early today so I rushed on back home to see the family. It's always a great feeling having the whole family round, and of course getting to see my dog haha.

Music wise today I've gone for something very different. Last night me and my housemates went through some really old school kind of rap artists that we secreted like on school that we shouldn't of done because we were moshers, but now we've grow up we can actually listen to what we want haha. One band that came up was NWA. I remember hearing them on all the Tony Hawks soundtracks and really liking them, so I decided to give their album "Straight Outta Compton" a go today, and it's actually really good, I really enjoyed listening to it. Actually found it on record for 99p which I might have to go for!

I'm sure it does seem weird me listening to something like that, but if you can't appreciate music that isn't money churning bull shit then why do we even listen to music? So many new bands think of the money when it comes to music but it's nothing to do with money if you want to write good music.

Well that's my rant for the weekend haha.

Nothing much new here.

Day 130 - First day of Spring | Day 50 - Beard test

God dammit, forgot to blog at work so this is going to be the first of the short blogs of the weekend. Unless I get a sudden burst and just don't stop typing (unlikely being on a train right now).

Google told me today that it's the first day of Spring and for the first day of Spring it's a pretty crappy day, started out okay but now it's raining which isn't fun to travel home in at all, and I've got a load of shopping to do when I get in as well, hooray.

Me and Jonny got into a bit of a debate last night about old music and why so many old bands are so tight. The main reason we thought bands are so good because they did so many drugs together that they were just so creative and crazy that they would come up with anything, but you still need to be practised to be so tight as a band. So we thought it all comes down to distraction. Nobody had a phone and was checking Facebook back in the day so they had nothing to distract them, they could focus on what they wanted to do and worry about plans and anything else after that. I'm blogging on my phone right now so I can post this on the internet, that would blow the mind off of someone back in the 60s. So I thought another challenge for the blog would be to see how long I could go without my phone, it would be so difficult because, I'll admit, I am addicted to the internet and everything about it! I'd probably only managed 24 hours before I give in. Maybe I'll try it one day haha.

Was on the train this morning. Why do people feel the need to give their bags a seat?! It really annoys me when I have to stand up and someone could just move their bands so one other person could sit down. Is someone that anti-social that they have to stop other people from sitting next to them? If you do that then you're the worst kind of person in the world.

Anyway, train home now, standing up haha. Because I'm away this weekend we're having a little movie and food night. No idea what movie no idea what food, but I know it'll be good haha.

Day 129 - It's midweek, we're almost there | Day 49 - Beard test

The rains packed up and the sun is out again in Huddersfield. Had to stop myself from going over to the shop to buy more food just the sake of going outside, I just managed it. Actually looking forward to travel home, might even brave it and not put a coat on, badass I know! Least I'm not one of them guys when the first sign of sun they whip their tops off and walk around town all day. Even if I wanted to I'm sure people would just laugh at me.

Midweek, feels like it should be Friday, it should be Friday! Friday is awesome. Especially around 5PM Friday, I think that's my official favorite time of the week. I think my nan this weekend is the doing the classic nan move and bringing up a ton of food, which I certainly will never complain about. When I lived back down in Burton there was this little bakery, well I say bakery technically it's a confectioners, but they baked good bread and my nan always brings up a bucket load of the stuff which is always cool.

Not sure why but I've been listening to a lot of City & Colour recently, and it hit me on the train that I've only very cherry picked songs by them rather than listening to an album. So tomorrow I'm going to listen to Little Hell. No idea why I picked that album, just thought I'd give it a go. So I'll do a "mini review" if you like of what I thought of the entire album. Today on the train I listened to Are You Experienced, by The Jimi Hendrix Experience. An amazing album with some classic songs like Purple Haze and Hey Joe (a personal favorite). Hey Joe has some real dark lyrics to it, and I only just found out today that it is actually a cover of The Leaves. The song is about a man who is on the run to the Mexican Border after shooting his wife, I know a lovely story, but the song is actually brilliant. Siding away from the album my all time favorite Jimi Hendrix Experence song is actually Little Wing from Bold As Love, either that or Voodoo Child purely for the intro haha.

Had a little catch up meeting this afternoon with my boss being away on holiday. I thought she might be in a bad mood what with being back at work but it was actually a really nice meeting. Literally just got told I was doing a good job on my own is so ridiculously motivating, it just makes me want to push on and do more and more. I don't want to burn myself out with the work I've currently got because that already is a big task in itself, but maybe after this I could do more.

Righto, well that is my time at work over for today. It's time to crack on some Jimi Hendrix nice and loud for the train journey home. The week gets much easier starting from...NOW.

________________________________________________________________________________

The pictures really are not giving it much justice but I do think it is growing still. Still need a new method soon.

Tuesday 18 March 2014

Day 128 - Surprise presentation | Day 48 - Beard test

Today weather wise has been a pretty crappy day compared to the last few days, but I'm sat in a warm office, and it is pretty funny watching people get wet whilst you're dry and warm haha. All round though it has been a pretty good day at work, even if I did get a presentation sprung on me last minute an hour ago.

This campaign I have been given to market wanted a short presentation today which I had no idea about until an hour ago. I came up with loads of ideas a few weeks ago but now I had to present them to the two people who run the green side of the university. I managed to "wing it" slightly, they both really liked the ideas we came up with and they are more than happy to go a head with the ideas we put forward. So it looks like the ball will start rolling within the next few days and I think I am going to have a hell of a lot of work on my hands in the coming months. That does mean, hopefully, that the final months of my placement will be over fast and I can start living the life of the lazy student I use to be, well more lazy than I am now haha. I've been given a bit of a budget to sort out some posters and logo designs which is nice, I've not been given much responsibility up until now.

Just been told that a vinyl I ordered has finally arrived, really excited to finally get to listen to it on a vinyl player. The record I bought was Hawkwind - In Search of Space. It's a little wacky in places but I think it would be a great album to just stick on and chill to. Probably won't get to listen to it for a while though still, it isn't really a after work record. I think you really have to have been sitting down a for a good few hours and be in the mood for it. I won't get chance to play it this weekend either because I'll be on my way home.

I have my grandparents coming up from our hometown to see us which is going to be cool. Also bringing up my troublesome cousin which means that the weekend will be packed with playing offices, schools and what ever else she can think of. As much I might sound annoyed I actually really like having her up, gives me an excuse to act like a child and get away with it. We made mud pies last time she was up and it was great fun haha.

It's only Tuesday?! I was hoping it was closer to the weekend, really hope the rest of the week is kind to me like Monday and Tuesday have surprisingly been.

_______________________________________________________________________________

Same old shitty beard, still haha. Still not thought of any other methods, I'll have to do some research this week.

Monday 17 March 2014

Day 127 - Sorting the house | Day 47 - Beard test

The house viewings this weekend were a total success (sort of), the first one we looked at me and Jonny both liked, we then passed on the details to Andy our third housemate and we really liked it as well. So I rang up today to tell them that we really like the house and would really like to go ahead and get the ball rolling. The only thing that stands in our way is a £75 admin fee, we have to pay that amount to have our names copied and pasted into a document, wow. But anyway, we really like the house and I think we're going to go a head with it anyway. I got an attic room which I've always wanted and got a really nice view of Huddersfield to look over on a night haha. Only a quick 10 minutes walk away from the Uni as well. The area as well is dead quiet unlike the when we use to live in the ghetto of Huddersfield the year before. Actually leaving work a littler earlier so I can run over and get some more details from them.

I think it's pasta and Top Gear tonight, the special started last week and it seems pretty good so far. Just with every Top Gear special you can tell it is just so set up, but it is still entertaining to watch. It does make me wanna buy a really crappy car and go driving (if I could drive), but obviously they have loads of money and the BBC behind them so they can pretty much do what they want, and have it all paid for them. I can just see me now broken down on the side of a road not knowing what the hell to do haha. Apparently Aaron Paul was on the other week and got the fastest lap which is pretty cool.

Paid off my phone last week, so now I am an official iPhone user haha. I had an iPhone 3G when they first came out and really loved it, I had no idea why I swapped it for a BlackBerry. Glad I'm back with Apple now, and even though everyone gives them a lot of stick I think you get what you pay for. They last a long time if you look after them properly and don't leave them on charge all night. So many people moan about having a bad battery life but they leave it on charge all the time, so what do you expect?

I counted up all the change I've saved since last year, I had a huge pile of it and it came to around 20 quid so I'm going to use that for shopping this week. I Think I'll end up breaking the self-scan machine if I put it all in at once haha.

I best run off to the estate agents, If anyone get this house before us then I think I'll cry in the middle of the agents and demand it back! Haha

______________________________________________________________________________

I sort of think it is starting to grow into something but it is still very very light haha, not long now until the 60 days are up. I think I'm going to try and find another method of growth and do another test I think straight after. That way I don't have to do another 30 days of control.

Sunday 16 March 2014

Day 126 - Vinyl Night

Instead of putting on the TV or watching a film we thought he listen to all the vinyls we bought in the sales at night. We started with some Creedence Clearwater Revival, and then we started on the drinks haha. We had loads of rum and jäger left from a little party we had earlier in the month, so we thought we'd get rid of it. This went on for a while and we thought it would be a great idea to listen to Tubular Bells at 3 in the morning. This was a great choice, I'd never really heard it all the way through before, and after listening and then hearing that Mike Oldfield played each part by himself one at a time was an amazing thought, who would possibly hold that amount of information in their head?! A 50 minutes song with so many different parts. Yeah that blew my mind haha, probably because of the jäger but even sober it's an incredible record.

Making this one short with it being the weekend, plus About A Boy is on which I hate to admit but it really is a great film haha, especially for a Sunday afternoon watch haha.

Saturday 15 March 2014

Day 125 - Vinyls everywhere!

Got up stupidly early for a Saturday which at first I wasn't a fan of but after a little run around the park at 8 in the morning you soon get into the swing of it for the rest of the day.

Me and Jonny went on over to Huddersfield to see some houses for next term and the first one we see we pretty much fell in love with, Jonny more so because it had a breakfast bar haha. So I'm ringing up tomorrow to say we'll take it. Really happy we have a house sorted, nearly for next term. And it's a beauty.

After the viewings and we went to Vinyl Tap in town because they were having a pound sale, so we went and picked up loads of new vinyls that we're going to listen to tonight, one of them is the soundtrack from the old Star Wars, so that should be fun haha.

Not having a beard picture today, we've dimmed the lights whilst we have a few drinks so I can't really get a good photo. But he estate agent that was showing is round the houses did comment on it, so you know, success! Haha

Friday 14 March 2014

Day 124 - One busy Friday | Day 44 - Beard test

Blogger has finally sorted itself out and letting me upload pictures!

I got given my first "project" today, if you like. I'm doing a marketing campaign to raise awareness of energy wastage around campus, it is not something I've been good at keeping up with in the past but I think I can come up with some good ideas to start this campaign off. This is the first one of many (hopefully) I'll be given so I need to try and show off as much as possible, or at least try to haha. So I've had plenty of work to be getting on with today which is finally all out of the way for the weekend to start. I've pretty much been on Photoshop all day coming up with poster and flyer ideas, even got a few vinyl stickers in the works to be stuck around light switches and stuff. I think I would definitely like to do this as a full time job. I think I would need to work on my design skills, but I really enjoy using Photoshop and marketing is something I enjoy doing for both work and for the band. I actually picked a marketing module next year to studying which should be good now I have some hands on experience for that as well. That may well help me climb to ladder of marketing. But if that fails I'll get loads of tattoos and join a band and sleep in a van, infact forget that I'd rather do that than have a job for sure haha.

Speaking of the weekend it should be a chilled one this weekend. We have some house viewings Saturday morning so that means no partying tonight, which is good because I can't afford it anyway. After the house viewings there is a vinyl sale on at the local record store which I'm excited about, loads of old records for a quid, couldn't get better than that. I'm guessing after that we go home, pick up some beers and listen to what we bought. Partying hard this weekend haha.

I always think of really good topics to talk about when I'm not blogging but as soon as I'm in front of a computer getting ready to blog I just forget everything. I did start making notes on my phone to remind me but again I always forget. I remember saying when I started this I wanted to try and do more as a person to try and have interesting things to write in this blog but it is so hard when you work 9-5 through the week then want to do nothing on the weekend. The upside to starting this blog in November is you'll get a month of me being a student again so hopefully I'll have more to talk about. I think I'll carry on after doing a once a week blog, it is a little bit too much doing it daily when you do nothing.

Honestly think I can see a bit of a difference, it think it is starting to thicken up (who am I kidding?) slightly. Let's keep on going

Day 123 - An actual really good day | Day 43 - Beard test

Blogger is having some issues so I can't upload a picture today.

Yup, you read the title right, I actually had a really good day at work today. It doesn't happen often but it happened today. So the good news I got, I've actually been given some responsibilities which feels really good after a whole six months of being micro-managed. I am not a fan of being micro-managed at all, I'd much rather be given a chunk of work to work on for the next few weeks rather than lots of little tasks now and then. Of course to make things much better it is Friday tomorrow, what more could I ask for? I know, food! Well I got that last night in the form of a pizza, yeah I know I said I was going to watch money yesterday but I thought I need to end of a high rather than just go for it. So Me and Jonny got a massive pizza each and stacked whatever we could find on it and cooked it. We both ended up finishing it but I think we're both paying for it now haha. So today is the start of the sensible eating, its pasta night tonight.

We caught up on The Walking Dead last night in the house, it got me thinking about season one, and how beautifully made it was, not too much gore just the right amount for a show like that, but now the story lines are getting dragged out so much and it's just packed full of blood and guts. It is still a great show I just think the writers need to try and work from season one rather than just packing more and more into a season. It did start to pick up very slowly last night towards the end of the episode but I have a feeling it'll be the same again in the next season. I guess it's just the first half of season two all over again except everyone is actually moving. I guess if all these episodes are just character development and we have a massive ending to this season it won't be so bad after all, I'm hoping for big things though.

Started watching The Sopranos last night. I've heard nothing but good things about it and I have no idea why I never started watching it later on. I'm only a few episodes in but it seems to be my sort of show, lot of intresting charactors and some good stories. Got 5 seasons to get through over summer haha.

After this good news the sun was out again today which is a good sign. I think it's time for me to take that long journey home. Wonder what sights I'll see today, both Huddersfield and Leeds have some pretty strange people living in them for sure haha.

Day 122 - New music! | Day 42 - Beard test

I'm all alone today in the office, that means one thing music can be played out loud haha. Glad I did stick some music on today because I got into a new band which I'm pretty happy about. I remember days of watching Scuzz and Kerrang to get into a band but now with Spotify Radio you can find new bands all the time. So I'm listening to The Black Keys on Spotify and in the similar artists section I see a band I've heard the name of, know they're rumored to be playing Glastonbury but don't know the music. I go ahead and click on the band name and listen to their newest single. WOW. The band is Royal Blood, with their latest single "Little Monster". Post a link tot the video below. I started checking out the rest of their music and it is really good. It is like a mix, in my opinion anyway, of The Black Keys and Band of Skulls.

Now that Glastonbury and a new house is on the way I need to start seriously saving. Hoping to be able to budget my next few wages so I can pay rent but still pay off my Glastonbury ticket and have enough to put down a deposit on a house for July. Just to make matter worse a friend of mine asked me if I wanted to go to Amsterdam in June, for a holiday it is really cheap but with all this going on I really don't think I can afford it. But I've made a deal with Jonny my housemate that we will go next year in our final year of uni, or we might never go. So I can either do all three and not eat or pick two and eat very little. The house has to be done, and I'd rather go to Glastonbury than Amsterdam right about now, especially with the sun out the majority of my friends going. So a new house and Glastonbury it is!

Fresh out of content for this blog so it looks like I'm going to have to end it here and get back to work. It's not all bad though, because I get a leave a little earlier and I have a friend on the train rather than having to awkward stand next to some other dude really close for 20 minutes.

Again, the light makes my beard look feeble haha

Tuesday 11 March 2014

Day 121 - New desk | Day 41 - Beard test

Remember to actually blog whilst I'm in front of a computer, well only just. I was all up and ready to leave for work when it hit me and I sat straight back down and took a picture of my so called "beard". I think it'll be strange after the 60 days are up not having to take a picture of it before I write a blog. I'll have to think of some new things to test out on myself for the next test.

Speaking of sitting down in front of my computer, I actually got a new computer today at work which I was pretty excited about, but it's just as slow as the last one I had, but it means I get a duel monitor so I guess it's a little better than a slow single monitor.

When I really should have been doing work I watched a video that is going viral at the minute which features the legend Barack Obama and Zach Galifanakis. Pretty big fans of both of their work, if you like haha. So it an interview with Zach interviewing Barack, but it's set up, but it is really funny. Between Two Ferns has had a few other guests as well which are just as funny. I hate to say it but Justin Beibers one is a personal favorite also Steve Carrell does a pretty good job on it as well. If you've not already seen it and you've some how manged to dodge the Facebook posts about it, check it out here: http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/18e820ec3f/between-two-ferns-with-zach-galifianakis-president-barack-obama

Another video that seems to be going round a lot today is "20 strangers kissing for the first time". When I read the title I said what everyone else hopefully said "what on Earth?!" But after watching it is a pretty well made video and dare I say it kinda nice (I'm going to get some much shit for saying this). But if you want to check it out and again have missed all the posts heres the link: http://goodmenproject.com/featured-content/20-strangers-kiss-for-the-first-time-dnpa/

Not sure why I felt the need to quickly review two videos I've just watched haha, but there you go.

Think we finally have the ball rolling for looking for a new house next year, got some viewings sorted for the weekend. Hopefully we'll like the look of one and we can get something sorted. Looking for another house local to the town center, what with having to get to uni and stuff. Don't think I can deal with another year of having to get trains everyday. Guess I wouldn't say no to another year in Leeds, it would just be a pain that's all.

That's a picture wrap on my work day, been nice and busy so it went fast, I think that's time for me to go home, eat food and watch The Walking Dead!

____________________________________________________________________________

Knew this would happen, soon as I get in the light it looks like nothing haha. I was considering after the "beard test" that I might just get rid of it...hmm.

Monday 10 March 2014

Day 120 - Monday sunny Monday | Day 40 - Beard test

It's not often I wake up I'm a good mood on a Monday, but I did. It was nice and sunny which always seems to put me in a good mood. All round as well it was a pretty good day at work, everyone else also seemed to be in a good mood, which always makes the day much more pleasant.

One thigh bad about today was that I Didn't blog at work, but I'm going to let myself off because it was Monday after all haha. More good news though, I bought a pizza at the weekend and totally forgot about it so I'm going to make this Monday epic! Plus the new Top Gear special was on last night so I think we're all going to catch up on that tonight. Pizza and Top Gear, this Monday sounds like a Friday, I could get use to that.

Been looking at houses today around Huddersfield we're hoping we can get something sorted within the next few weeks then we can sit back and enjoy Glastonbury! But with lots of work inbetween, boo.

Day 119 - Parmo Sunday | Day 39 - Beard test

A nice lazy Sunday. I got up nice and late after tons of sleep and then I jumped on the train to Huddersfield to see Terri and we made some parmos which are the perfect meal for Sunday!

It's been a really good weekend to be fair, no going out and no partying means we saved a bit of money for when the Glastonbury money comes out in a few weeks and that also means we get to finally see the line up!

Been pretty tired all day which I can't explain because I've had so much sleep this weekend, hopefully one final sleep with set me up for the week of work

Day 118 - Much better | Day 38 - Beard test

Feeling much better today, no aches or pains. When I got in I just wanted to sleep but soon as everyone got home and perked up a little, we actually found half a bottle of whiskey in the cupboard and we finished that off last night haha, we managed to stay in as well which is pretty good for us, I thought we'd be straight out soon as we got some drink in is but we stayed in and played some Xbox. A lot like today to be honest, we went to Asda made. A stir fry and now we're just chilling, pretty productive weekend of you asked me haha. Same again tomorrow no doubt before going back to work.

In low light so it's going to look a little different haha. Can't really see much change to be honest

Friday 7 March 2014

Day 117 - Ill day | Day 37 - Beard test

I got up majorly early today, and got into work a littler earlier than normally, which is not like me at all, but it happened haha. I thought it was because it was Friday that I woke up in a good mood and wanted to get today over with but I spoke to soon and got a really bad headache, so I left work early and now I'm back on the sofa wanting a kip. Still probably won't stop me from playing a stupid amount of Xbox this weekend though haha.

Yeah it's going to be a short one, don't feel up to a beard picture, nothing much has changed as I'm sure you'll have guessed by now haha.

Thursday 6 March 2014

Day 116 - Early planning | Day 36 - Beard test

Really starting to struggle for names now for posts, which I guess isn't bad for my 116th day, I thought I'd get to day 2 and totally blank. It is pretty difficult to come up with a title for a post when I've really done nothing at all during the day but work.

Last night it was back to three people in the house so we really spent half the night just chatting and catching up, and because of the Glastonbury rumors flying around you can probably guess that the topic of conversation is usually what we're going to do before and during the festival itself. Even though the three of us in the house have all been to a few festivals before hand we still like to plan and get a little nervous about it, anything could go wrong at any time from someone not having money for a ticket or travel falling through at the last minute, so I guess it is good to be the way we are and try and plan everything well in advance. Like we've not even spoke about travel yet, but we have a friend from Bristol who is coming up in a few days who I'm sure can whip us into shape and we can set a nice plan for the weekend coming up. Well, I hope so anyway. I think we're going to go down with nothing but our tents and a few clothes and stay with him for a few days and then all go into town there and pick up food and drink, which saves us carrying loads all the way down there. Because it is pretty far away from where we live, but it will be totally worth it. There is only the four of us going down but our friend takes a big group with him so I'm sure we will make lots of new friends on the way which is always nice at a festival. I think I'm going to change it up this year drinks wise, usually I take a few crates with me and never end up finishing them before the weekend is over but this year I'm thinking less crates and more sprites, but then that brings up the problem of drinking in the morning, nobody wants to start the day with a vodka and coke haha, so maybe I'll take a couple of crates with me to start the days off. With the first two days having nothing to do but drinking I'm sure that should plan out nicely. Also because Glastonbury allows drink everywhere I think I'll actually be drinking a lot more than I do at any other festival. Pretty much at very other festival I don't drink during the day but I think at Glastonbury things will be very different, God help us all haha. Then also comes the tent situation, do we go for a tent each and have a little community going in the camp site or we do brave it and not have to carry as much and just have two tents? I do like the two tent option to be fair, I think it will be a lot easier for us all, and we also will have a little space we can share if it rains, but hopefully they'll be no rain.

Now after all the festival talk, it's back to reality. Sat at work I think it could be a late one tonight, because I'm waiting on other people, which is the last thing I want to be doing right now. I don't like waiting on people and I don't like pressuring people into work, so I'm stuck with nothing to do but blog. Hopefully I'll get a call soon.

I had a thought last night of having rice and lentils, it's easy to make and cheap but it their is no taste whatsoever, so tonight I'm going round Terri's are "we" are going to make some bacon and chicken burgers which I'm very much looking forward to after a day of work, as I'm sure she will be after an evening of work as well.

_______________________________________________________________________________

Yeah I think it is definitely starting to thicken up very slightly, but only a little. Guess it isn't a bad result for saying I'm only on day 6 of tablet taking

Wednesday 5 March 2014

Day 115 - No Prince at Glastonbury! | Day 35 - Beard test

I've been a little worried/excited of the past few weeks mainly because of Glastonbury. I'm obviously very excited to be going to this massive festival of festivals, but also the rumors for the line up in my opinion have been a little weak. I mean Arcade Fire for the Friday headliner, I'm not a fan at all but I can deal with one headliner I don't enjoy. Then the Kasabian rumours started coming in, which is okay but not brilliant. Then Prince started up, which in my book came to three pretty average headliners. I know it isn't all about the headliners but I do enjoy watching at least one headline act at a festival, I do enjoy the smaller bands a little more in my opinion. But today apparently Prince has said no to Glastonbury which is some good news for today which leaves a headline slot open on the Saturday. I'm still holding out that Eavis isn't true to his word (which is normally the case) and Fleetwood Mac show up, or even Daft Punk which would be unreal! A few rumors going around or The Eagles, Foo Fighters even Metallica are getting a bit of a buzz on the rumors mill which I wasn't expecting at all from Glastonbury. I certainly wouldn't say no to that. All in all, I hope we get a nice big act for the Saturday headline, because I don't see Arcade Fire as a big act, and Kasabian are getting there, but we need an old classic to party on to on the Saturday for sure!

If we get one nice big headliner that would be great, but like I said I do enjoy the smaller bands more. Like Blondie confirmed themselves at the NME Awards which is pretty cool, I'll definitely be checking them out. Jurassic 5 have apparently just confirmed themselves as well, they're a band I've always wanted to check out, and I guess if nobody else clashes with her I might go and see old Dolly Parton haha.

That's enough about festivals, I can tell the sun is getting to me. 3 sunny days and I start jabbering on about festivals. Been a very productive day at work, done plenty of work and I've got plenty more coming in which has made the day go nice and fast, even though it's not over yet. Managed to get home last night before it went day which felt really nice, not sure why, it just did. Planning on making a giant bowl of pasta when I get in which should last me till the weekend when I can go food shopping, and then I'm going to be careful and buy cheap foods I think, maybe one pizza, it is the weekend haha.

So my album that I listen to on the way to work today was The Doors - The Doors. This is an album I have listen to before and I really really like it. Probably one of my favorite albums of all time, most definitely one of my favorite debut albums. To be honest I only recently got into The Doors, I was never much of a fan but when I sat down and listen to that record in full it just blew me away like nothing else before, and having a song at the end which is over 10 minutes long back in the 60s was unheard of. Such a great band and record.

I best get back to work, because I actually have work to do now haha.

_____________________________________________________________________________

I think we might have a small amount of difference today. It just seems that little bit thicker than it normally is. Not sure though.

Tuesday 4 March 2014

Day 114 - Pretty normal day | Day 34 - Beard test

Yesterday was a good day for saying it was a Monday, today was the same, but that makes it an average day because it's a Tuesday. If it was a Friday, anything could happen and it would still be a good day. But it isn't Friday I'm afraid, it's still Tuesday, but still nothing bad to report and nothing. Even though I did get a surprise meeting sprung on me today which stopped me from getting KFC with Terri, but she went on without me, how nice...haha. No I'm joking, much rather save money than eat some beautiful KFC chicken, honestly.

I started the morning with something different on my train ride to work. I usually go for a podcast, not really sure why I just got stuck doing it haha, but today I thought I'd try and get through an album instead. I decided to go for an artist I'm not that familiar with. I went for Harvest by Neil Young, it really isn't something I'd normally listen to but I really enjoyed it. I think I'll carry on listening to a random album a day and see what comes up.

The surprise meeting though actually was a really nice meeting. Had an average start to the day but that really made it a whole lot better and put me in a really good mood, which is not often haha. Also the sun being out always puts me in a good mood. Surprised to see it out to be honest, I guess it is slowly turning into that time of year. I say that bet it will snow within the next few weeks now and ruin everything for a few months. I just hope we don't run out of sun before Glastonbury.

Well I'd say my grammar post from yesterday was a success but I messed up the format big style, I'm not going to go back and change it, you can read it fine, I think I've managed to sort it out on this one though. Still really am a noob when it comes to blogging, I guess 100 days is nothing when it comes to other bloggers out there. Hopefully I'll get it one day.

Got told today that my bands EP is being reviewed by a small online alternative magazine, it's not the biggest news in the world but it is still some feedback we will take into consideration for our next release. It may even drum up some buzz about it. Looking at the plays on Bandcamp, iTunes and Spotify it is actually our biggest success, the plays are going up day by day which hopefully is a good sign.

_________________________________________________________________________

Really glad I gave it a little trim the other day, looking back at other photos it looks totally messed up.

Monday 3 March 2014

Day 113 - Not Monday again | Day 33 - Beard test

It's that terrible time of the week again. The start of the working week, the day every person hates. Monday. It's been alright though, pretty quiet day but had plenty to be getting on with, so it's been a nice Monday for once.

Today is the first day of the "new" style blogs, if you like. I'm going to try and keep the posts during the week nice and long and have the weekend posts a little shorter. Not really sure why, I'm not getting fed up of posting I just think I'd work better that way. During the week I'm always in front of a computer and I can type much better on a keyboard than on a phone at home. I do own a computer but its effort having to use a really crappy laptop. I do literally only use it for watching Netflix now. So yeah, going to try and keep these nice and long.

Last week the band put down a deposit for a music video in May. Really looking forward to this now, things are starting to get serious. For saying this was going to be a slow year because of everyone on placement, especially with Andy being down in London, it was going to be hard. But we've actually managed to step it up, maybe not from a gig point of a view but definitely from a promotional point of view, what with music videos and such. The deal we're getting is pretty epic as well, we even get a little "making of..." video to post which should have some interesting results haha.

We're planning another dry few weeks of not going out, money is a pretty tight for us all and we can't afford to go out every weekend. Well we're going to at least try to stay in. One way or another we always end up doing something on the weekend. I think in the few months of us living in Leeds we have had a record one weekend of doing nothing whatsoever.

I'm going to be proofreading all my posts from now on as well, I looked back and some of my other posts and grammar and spelling is a failing of mine, of many, which I'll admit haha. Just the odd thing is misspelled and I know I'm not a professional blogger or anything but I'm sure it's better for people to read a post that you can actually read rather than having to stop and guess what I'm talking about. That's if other people actually read these posts other than friends haha

Today before coming into work I watched the last one-take Sunday from the Shaytards, I know they're not going away for good but it is going to be different to not have a vlog to watch everyday. I guess 5 years is a long time and having a vlog and edit footage whilst looking after so many kids is a very difficult task, and doing it for 5 years is a worthy goal for any person. So big respect for Mr. Shay Carl.

Well it's the end of the day and it's my time to brave the long ass train journey home. I made sure I downloaded the Cashing In With TJ Miller podcast before I left so I have something to try and keep me sane for the journey.

____________________________________

Can tell that I've given it some trimming, well actually you can tell in the photos I've been taking but I can tell. I know it's only been 3 days of tablet taking but I can't see much changing. Guess it'll be at least day 7/10 before/if I see any difference at all.

Sunday 2 March 2014

Day 112 - Haircut | Day 32 - Beard test

It's another Sunday, which means it's back to work tomorrow, boo! It has been a really good weekend, had some good times with the family back home, always do really when I go back. It's nice to be back in my own place though, ready for another working week. Actually at Terri's tonight and we're going to have some big ass chicken burgers, looking forward to them!

I've come up with a plan for the rest of my weekends blogging. Normally my posts are not that long on the weekend because I either don't do much or it's because it's my weekend haha, so I've decided that I'll blog in detail during the weekend and the weekends they'll be a little shorter than normal. It's actually getting pretty hard to blog everyday, eventually you do start to run out of things to write about when a you do is go to working during the week and then do nothing on the weekends haha. Well anyway, this week the new posts start.

I attempted to cut my own hair today, well I said cut my own hair after five minutes I has to call in back up and my mum had to finish off the back, but I think we did a pretty good job.

Also gave the beard a little trim which you'll see below, oops haha.

_____________________________________

Day 2 of the tablet test. It might look a little smaller than normal because I gave it a little trim this morning, it was getting rather unrulely haha
